A pair of striking and generously shaped 1970s armchairs, by Dutch designer Gerard van den Berg for Montis, Netherlands. Covered in the original buttery soft premium black leather, the condition of which is excellent, and without cracking or pilling. It’s some of the best leather I’ve felt, and it’s been lovingly conditioned with a leather balm. A new pot of which will be supplied with the chairs for future care and conditioning. They’re genuinely so comfortable, and because of the enveloping shape, it’s so easy to curl up and nestle into the curved backrest. With each of them comes a rectangular lumber cushion with loops that attach to the back via buttons, all covered in the same leather. I love everything about them, and they look beautiful from every angle, so they can be away from walls and be a focal point from any direction. They have a sought after leather patina that can only come with well cared for vintage leather, with slight “lived in” creasing and a black colour that’s become lightly tonal over time. Overall the condition is excellent, and the leather is without tears or pressure marks. Only small and expected signs of age and use. External back hight 95cm from the floor to the top Width 84cm Depth 76cm Arm height 65cm from the floor to the top of the arm Seat height 40cm Inside back rest height 62cm from the seat to the top Price is for the pair
